DC Ranch falls within the boundaries of the Scottsdale Unified School District, also known as district #48. The associated schools are Copper Ridge (K-8) and  Chaparral High School . Copper Ridge is conveniently located within the community of DC Ranch and both schools are generally highly regarded. For those interested in a private education for their children, Notre Dame Preparatory is located just a few miles south of the community and comes recommended by various past clients.

Market Street Shopping

Market street is the focal point for shopping, dining, and special events at DC Ranch. There are seventeen unique buildings making up Market Street and businesses include a grocery store, restaurants, boutiques, services and a mix of offices. One of my clients described Market Street as “Cowboy Chic,” which I thought was fitting. Be sure to catch the Farmers Market every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. for fresh produce and flowers, southwest specialties, cooking demonstrations and appearances by local musicians.

DC Ranch Golf

The Country Club at DC Ranch was designed by course architect Scott Miller and opened to rave reviews in 1997. The par 71, 5,000 – 7,000 yard golf course is not overly long and is known as relatively easy to play, yet challenging to score on.  Each hole takes advantage of the sonoran desert terrain and provides views of the McDowell Mountains, Pinnacle Peak and some spectacular custom DC Ranch golf homes. Membership Highlights (pdf file)

DC Ranch Homeowners Association

Homeowners Association or HOA dues vary depending upon which subdivision your DC Ranch home is located in. Currently fees range from approximately $89.00 – $375.00 monthly. The higher price dues are for condos and townhomes and include items such as water, sewer, trash, hazard insurance policy, roof repair, roof replacement, exterior maintenance, lanscaping, common area maintenance etc…

Our DC Ranch Review

DC Ranch remains one of our favorite North Scottsdale communities. With it’s convenient location, shopping, on-site schools,  community centers, fitness centers, pools, golf courses, gated communities and hiking trails, there’s something for everyone.  In addition, homes are still being built in DC Ranch which means you don’t have to settle for an older outdated home which is common in many of Scottsdale’s desirable locations.

Our only complaint is there are a limited number of  large lots.  Many of the homes are located on parcels under 7,500 square feet. However, larger parcels do exist, you just need to look a little harder for those properties. If you purchase one of the custom homes in Country Club Village this usually doesn’t apply as many home sites are located on over an acre.

Some may balk at the HOA fees associated with living in DC Ranch (dues typically range from $89.00 – $200.00 a month).  If you’ve read this far, you are well aware of many of the amenities that come with ownership. Heck, if you have a family of four and want to join a private health club you’re probably looking at $120.00 or more a month in dues. If you plan on taking advantage of of a few of the “extras,” the homeowners dues could be considered a bargain.
