Like so many other condo communities in the area, Signature Scottsdale was originally built as apartments in 1995. In 2005, all units were renovated with new cabinets, counter tops, flooring, paint and fixtures. They were then converted to condos and sold to prospective buyers.
We really like the amenities here. There's two resort-style pools & spas, clubhouse, fitness center with treadmills, steppers, stationary bikes, free weights and machines, gas fire pit, ramadas, and the community is gated for extra security.
Location is top-notch as well. Signature residents can step outside the front gate, head west, and walk to Starbucks, AJ's Fine Foods, Walgreens, Chipotle or our favorite Chinese restaurant - Flo's. On a nice day, the outdoor cafe at AJ's is great for grabbing lunch or people watching, and the menu is fantastic.
Travel time to the Loop 101 (freeway) is 3 minutes, Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is 23 minutes, and the McDowell Mountain Golf Club is 5 (owned by Phil Mickelson's group). The McDowell Mountain Ranch Park and Aquatic Center is approximately a mile away and features a lap pool, leisure pool, lazy river, slide, party island, fitness center, skateboard park and baseball fields.
There are a couple of possible drawbacks though depending on your wants and needs. Some of the buildings are three story, and there are no elevators. Also, there's a very limited number of units with detached garages (most units have covered carports), so if that is a requirement, you may want to consider Cachet at McDowell Mountain Ranch, Venu at Grayhawk, Village at Grayhawk, or if on a tighter budget, Venetian.
The monthly homeowners association dues are $220.00 a month and are in-line, if not less expensive than other condo / townhome communities in the area. They include water, sewer, trash, blanket hazard insurance policy, common area maintenance, roof repair, roof replacement and pest control.
